New patients

Welcome. We're glad you're here.

Becoming a patient is simple. Here's everything you need to know before your first visit, and if you have questions, we're just a phone call away.

A clean, quiet exam room ready for a visit

Your first visit

What to expect.

Your first appointment is longer than a typical visit, usually about an hour, so we have time to get to know you.

  1. 01

    Schedule

Call us or send a request online. We'll find a time that works and answer any questions about insurance or cost.

  2. 02

    Paperwork

We'll send new patient forms ahead of time, or you can arrive 15 minutes early to complete them in the office.

  3. 03

    Meet your provider

We'll review your health history, medications, and goals, do an exam if needed, and talk about any concerns.

  4. 04

    Leave with a plan

You'll know your next steps, including any labs, prescriptions, referrals, and when to come back.

What to bring

A short checklist.

Don't have everything on this list? Come anyway. We'll work with what you have.

  • Photo ID, if you have one
  • Insurance card(s), if you have coverage
  • All current medications, including vitamins and supplements
  • Names of other doctors or clinics you've seen
  • Any recent test results or records you have
  • A list of questions you want to ask

Insurance & payment

Care you can access.

We believe cost shouldn't stand between you and care. Our team will walk you through your coverage and options before your visit, so there are no surprises.

Medicaid & Medicare

We work with Maryland Medicaid (HealthChoice) plans and Medicare. Call us to confirm your specific plan.

Private insurance

We accept many commercial insurance plans. Bring your card and we'll verify your benefits for you.

No insurance?

You can still be seen. Ask about self-pay options, and we can help you find out if you qualify for Medicaid or other coverage.

Telehealth

Care from wherever you are.

Some follow-up visits can happen by video or phone, which saves you a trip when an in-person exam isn't needed. Your provider will let you know when a telehealth visit is a good option.

  • Follow-up visitsCheck-ins on progress, medications, and lab results.
  • Recovery supportMany ongoing treatment visits can happen virtually once you're stable.
  • Simple to joinAll you need is a phone or a device with a camera.
